2025 Kidding Season is coming soon!
In keeping with the plan to keep numbers at a manageable level, most kids will be available. I’m trying to be real here. I’d like to say I’m not keeping any kids at all but you know me! What if I get a black doe out of Navajo? What if I really like how Shenanigan freshens? Too many what ifs to say for sure. LOL! But you can help me by making a reservation now and I’ll be less tempted!

Show Season 2024
With me being uncertain how much I could manage on my own, I chose to just attend two clubs shows and 2 fairs this season. I’m so glad I did! I had the best time at each one. Visiting with goat friends and hanging out with my girls was the best! I had help in the form of my good friend Trudy. She had never been to a show before and by the end of the season she because an expert at ring stewarding and goat show happenings. While she came to help me, she got stolen quite a bit which is good because she does like to be busy! As far as the show wins go, we had several fun highlights. Ranchocabra Chick Flick is now a pending champion going Grand in 3 rings and Best Doe in two of those at the Evin Evans Spring Show (we pulled her from the 4th ring). Windscape PD Soliloquy earned her dry leg as a junior kid at the Evin Evans Spring Show as well.

Other Happenings
The home build is finally under way! It will be so nice to have that done and get back to normal.
Sarge the guardian is doing a great job with the herd on his own. We hope to bring in a pup for him to train and so he’ll have back up if needed in the spring.
I am continuing to make tough cuts to the herd to keep my numbers at an enjoyable level. There will be a few milkers available after they freshen and I see where I’m at.
CH Sunrising Charmer Madison retires this year at age 10. All the Alpines we have are related to her. She has made a huge impact on our herd and has earned a happy retirement here at The Rancho. We have daughters, grand daughters and great grands as well and we love them all!
